Yemen LNG signs three MOUs with the Shabwah local government and donates a bus to the Association of the Handicapped

Continuing to support the various development needs of the people of Shabwah, Yemen LNG signed on Tuesday three Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with local governmet of Shabwah represented by Governor of Shabwah, Mr. Ahmed BaHaj and three different beneficiary institutions. Yemen LNG also handed over the keys of a bus the Company donated to the Association of the Handicapped in Shabwah.

The first MoU was signed between Yemen LNG represented by General Manager, Mr. Francois Rafin, and the Governor of Shabwah, Mr. Ahmed BaHaj, the Shabwah Cleaning Fund Deputy Director, Mr. Alawi Andheel and the Bir Ali Landfill Project Committee. Under the signed MoU, Yemen LNG funds 3-year operational costs of the recently constructed Bir Ali Landfill which Yemen LNG built a few months ago. The Bir Ali Landfill will benefit about 4,000 people living in Bir Ali and the villages around it. Operational costs covered by Yemen LNG under this MoU amount to about $82,000.

The second MoU was signed between Yemen LNG General Manager, the Governor of Shabwah, and the Director of the Rural Water Authority in Shabwah, Mr. Saleh Mujawar. Under this MoU, Yemen LNG finances the completion of the Shawla water project in Jardan district. The Shawla water project will benefit about 500 people and Yemen LNG's intervention is worth about $225,000.

The third MoU was signed with the Governor of Shabwah, the Director of the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP), Dr. Adel Al-Jassari and the Health Office of Shabwah. Under this MoU, Yemen LNG finances a Dengue awareness and spraying campaign that will last for one month and is expected to benefit about 29,000 people in Rudhum and Maifa'a districts. Total budget of this project is about $50,000.

Concluding the signing ceremony, Yemen LNG handed over the keys to the new 16-seat bus that Yemen LNG donated to the Association for Care and Rehabilitation of the Handicapped in Shabwah. This intervention comes as part of the $70,000 support contract between Yemen LNG and the Association which was signed at the beginning of 2012.
