Under the auspices of HE the Governor of Shabwa, Yemen LNG Company officially inaugurated 3 new schools that have been constructed during 2009 – bringing the total of schools completed in project neighboring villages to seven. The 3 new schools were built in Qulqul, Eiath and Al-Dhahera.

The inauguration ceremony was held on 28 March in Al-Dhahera area in the presence of several key stakeholders including the Vice Minster of Education, Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals, Jardan District General Manager, Yemen LNG’s General Manager and a number of Yemen LNG staff and locals.

The General Manager of Yemen LNG Company, Mr Francois Rafin said: “Constructing a new school is an important message for the future; and as long as gas flows in a peaceful way, we will be able to have more projects”. He wished students success with their studies and a bright future ahead.

The Governor of Shabwa, Dr. Ali Hassan Al-Ahmadi, expressed his appreciation for Yemen LNG’s efforts and said “It has a good effect that enhances development of the whole area”. The Governor also announced the construction of three more classrooms on the part of the Government by the end of 2011- which endorses benchmarks set by Yemen LNG.
