Yemen LNG at the 2012 World Gas Conference in Kuala Lumpur: heritage and leadership of Yemen

Yemen LNG participated in the five-day World Gas Conference ending 8th June 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.



Uniting over 5,000 industry professionals from around the world, as well as over 10,000 trade visitors, the World Gas Conference was created in 1931 and is organized every three years. It is the most important global event in the gas industry.

The next World Gas Conference will be held in Paris in 2015.

Yemen LNG Company was present in a remarkable replica of the Kathiri Palace of Seyoun, Hadramout. This masterpiece of the Yemeni architecture was a must-visit attraction of the exhibition.




Yemen LNG Company started LNG production in November 2009 and it rapidly became a leader in the industry with an industrial reliability above average. Yemen LNG gained significant market shares with the premium Asian buyers and is scheduling to deliver more than 80% of its production to the Far East in 2012.




"Receiving delegates in this wonderful Kathiri palace replica, we were proud to show to the world both the cultural heritage of our country and our capacity to lead the competition in the fastest growing sector of the oil and gas sector: the LNG," said Esam Al-Ghorbani, the head of Yemen LNG representation in Kuala Lupmur.

About the Kathiri Palace

Built in 1873, the Kathiri Palace is the most prominent historic landmark of Seyoun; the principal town in Hadramout. It is 34-meter high and consists of 16-mud-brick structures, with 90 rooms and four rounded tower-like corners.

The Palace was renovated in the 20th centruy and functions today as a museum of local heritage.
