16 April 2013Houston, 16 April - The Minister of Oil and Minerals HE Ahmed Daris, along with a delegation from the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, opened in Houston today the Yemen LNG pavilion at the LNG 17 Conference and Exhibition being held in Houston, US, from 16 to 19 April. Uniting over 5,000 industry professionals from over 80 countries, as well as over 10,000 trade visitors, the LNG 17 Conference and Exhibition is the world's biggest global gas event to take place this year, attracting decision makers and gas industry experts from all over the world. Yemen LNG Company's pavilion was inspired by the remarkable historic Sun Temple of Marib. This unique icon of the Yemeni history was a must-visit attraction of the exhibition. The General Manager of Yemen LNG, Mr. Jacques Azibert highlighted that Yemen LNG is attending this conference "to show to the world both the rich cultural heritage of Yemen and Yemen LNG's capacity to compete in the fast growing LNG sector". This preserved site is considered today the most prominent historic landmark of Yemen, consisting of tall pillars, surrounded by a stone wall, and marked with inscriptions carved into this ancient structure that dates back to the Sabean civilization.
