Yemen LNG construction activities of the main pipeline that will connect the gas facilities in Block 18 in Marib to the plant in Balhaf, are now ongoing on the Plateau. Currently, work is being done to prepare the ascent of the pipeline to the Plateau at Kilo Point 138 and the descent at Kilo Point 204. Pioneer access track preparation between the top cliffs and the bottom will continue during the following weeks to enable the Right of Way to be enlarged. Construction activities include grading, drilling, trenching and blasting of the remaining big rocks on the cliff. Once completed, pipeline installation activities will begin around the ascent and descent.

Yemen LNG is currently constructing a natural gas liquefaction plant on the coast of Balhaf, Shabwa, as well as a 320-kilometer pipeline which will connect the gas processing facilities in Block 18 in Marib to the liquefaction facilities, located at around 400 km East of Aden. The construction is currently involving around 7,000 people in Balhaf and almost another 2,000 along the pipeline.
