Continuing to support education in Yemen in general and in the areas neighboring its work site, Yemen LNG sponsored the 2014 High School Top Students recognition ceremony in Shabwah on Tuesday, 06 January 2015. At the ceremony, Governor of Shabwah, Mr. Ahmed Ali BaHaj awarded the top ten students of the Science Section and the top ten students of the Literary Section with a laptop and $500 each presented by Yemen LNG.

At the ceremony, the Governor congratulated the top students and stated they have become a source of pride for their families. The Governor praised their achievements and urged them to keep up the hard work during their college studies in order to become role models for other students. The Governor also praised the support of Yemen LNG towards this event and noted the excellent partnership and coordination between Yemen LNG and the local authority for the sake of developing education in Shabwah.

On his turn and speaking on behalf of Yemen LNG, Senior Development Advisor, Mr. Mohammed Aidarous reiterated Yemen LNG’s commitment towards the development of communities around Yemen LNG’s work locations through various sustainable development projects with an emphasis on education.

In addition to the Governor, the ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Shabwah Local Council, Mr. AbduRabu Hashlah, many local officials and families of the students.
